IT'S A BOY!

That's right...the majority vote was another girl. But, SURPRISE!! we're having a baby boy this time around and he is definitely proud of it. It took about 2 seconds to find that out - if you know what I mean :) Tony and I are still trying to pick a name, so please feel free to offer up some ideas!

Zetterberg Christmas

Christmas Eve morning we had our own little family Christmas. Claire let daddy sleep till about 10AM and then she ran in and jumped on the bed shouting, "Merry Christmas!" We enjoyed watching her open her first tea set, which was so fun to see and hear her make sound effects as she poured us a cup of tea. Then on to the play dough which must stay in the kitchen - as it is not easy to get out of carpet :) That evening we drove to Tony's Aunt Patty's house for more family Christmas time and a yummy hoosier feast of mashed potatoes and noodles (and much much more). After opening presents and visiting with aunts, uncles, cousins and granny B, we headed to Tony's parent's home to spend the night. Misty's family stayed the night too, so all the cousins could wake up and enjoy Christmas morning together. Granny Z joined us for lunch and we finished the day with visiting and naps.

Zajicek Christmas

Thursday through Saturday my side of the family came into town to celebrate Christmas a little early. We enjoyed hang out time, going out to eat, shopping, movies, and of course the annual huge yummy zajicek christmas brunch, which included eggs, fruit, crescents and truffles from france, cheese blintzes, different saugages and of course coffee and tea (i forgot to take pictures - sally even sets out her beautiful china for this, but this pregnant lady was too hungry to worry about pictures) followed by present time. It was such a great time - I can't wait till next year!

Big Girl Bed

We were going to wait until Claire's 2nd birthday before transitioning her crib into a day bed, but with my growing tummy, it was getting harder and harder to put her in her crib without smashing my other baby :) So this past weekend Tony took the front of her crib off and converted it to a day bed (aka big girl bed). Claire was so excited that she could get in her bed all by herself and that she had a pillow like mommy and daddy. I was a bit worried that there would have to be some discipline to keep her in it when we left the room, but so far so good. She stays in it till we come and get her.

Sometimes it's a little hard to see my "baby" not in a crib anymore. What's next...little panties instead of diapers!?! I'll miss that diaper sound when I hear her running down the hall.

Kidney Reflux

Today was Claire's one year anniversary of getting a UTI (urinary tract infection)and then to find she has kidney reflux. Our little lady has been on antibiotics for the past year to keep her from getting a UTI again. She has not had any reoccurance or trouble with her kidney reflux since. So to "celebrate" her success we had an annual check up which includes an ultrasound of her kidneys then an xray followed by an appointment with the urologist. She did have to be sedated for the xray which was a little funny to watch her act as if she had one too many cocktails. Mommies need a little laugh when watching their baby go through these tests. Well, good news bad news...bad, she still has kidney reflux, good news she's still at a 2 (1 to 5, 5 being the worst) so we'll continue the antibiotics for another year and do it all over again next year. In the mean time, please pray for our little Claire to grow out of this, so surgery will not be in her future.

This picture has nothing to do with the day, just a sweet festive one to attach. It's more fun to read a post when there's a picture :)

Little Update

Today I had my baby #2 Dr appointment. It went really well. Things are moving right along smoothly. Praise the Lord!! And I'm feeling much better just in time for the holidays! My next appointment is December 29th...mark your calendars...that's the day we find out the sex of the baby!! Soooo what do you all guess we're having this round?

We totally forgot to get out the camera for Thanksgiving - hopefully we'll get copies of papaw's shots to share with you. But until then, here's a fun one to enjoy. Claire had just taken a bubble bath and said she was chilly, so we wrapped her up in the comforter that comes with her baby bedding that you never use :)

October

October is my very favorite month of the year for several reasons, but this year it was a bit harder to enjoy. I have had horrible morning sickness with baby #2 so sorry for the delay/lack in posts. Here are some cute pics of our little "peep" this month.

As many of you know my birthday is on Halloween and this year the BEST gift I received was the news that my sister-in-law (Shannon) is pregnant! Praise the Lord for this wonderful miracle. Please pray with us for a healthy pregnancy. Congratulations Jon and Shannon!

my little shopper

Claire and I noticed a children's consignment store up the road from us this afternoon. I was browsing through the fall items in Claire's size and all of a sudden I hear a tiny voice say, "Cute...oh...is cute" I looked over and this is what I saw. If only she would have had her purse over her shoulder... :)

Traders Point

Last week Claire and I visited a little farm up the road called Traders Point Creamery. It was really cute. Not only do they have cows, chickens and kittens, but they have a cafe on the second story of the barn. We packed a lunch that day, but next time we may have to try their menu...especially the ice cream!

I am terrified of chickens. Their talons freak me out, but Claire LOVED them.

Claire was most excited to see and touch the cows. However, they were fenced up for nap time, but at least she got to see them. She tried to climb the fence to get in with them, but i stopped her and sanitized her little hands...especially before lunch.

Before we sat down for lunch, we had a little visitor.

Girls' Weekend

This weekend was one of my very favorites. Friday evening 2 of my dearest Louisville friends came up. We stayed up till 1 AM talking. Then Saturday AM we enjoyed a yummy Zajicek breakfast tradition of cheese blintzes and fruit. After getting all "dolled" up for the day Lori and I helped Suzy at Babies R Us to update her registry. Then we headed downtown to the canal. It was an amazingly beautiful day outside - so what better way to enjoy it than a stroll along the canal and even lunch out on the balcony of River City Cafe. We finished the afternoon with a quick trip to Circle Center Mall. (see Lori Lyons' blog for more fun pics: http://loriandryan.blogspot.com/)

That evening I hosted my first Indy girls' night - the featured event was fondue. And it was a hit. Normally I like to have everything prepared and set out for my guests but this time I thought it would be fun to involve everyone in the fondue production. So as the guests arrived each one picked a task. From chopping veggies to slicing pound cake. Or boiling beer for the cheese fondue to whisking the heavy whipping cream for the chocolate fondue. We all had a blast while meeting new friends and ejoying the company of old. A few were unable to come, but don't worry girls, there will be lots more to attend!

Sally and Jen chopping the veggies

Misty slicing the sourdough bread

Shannon...you're supposed to be MELTING the chocolate...not EATING it...I knew I shouldn't have truster her with that job. :)

Lori and Suzy shredding the Guyere cheese...it smelled aweful but tasted yummy.

Slumber Party, Shipping Off and Sales

These last few days have been great. Wednesday was my sweet nephew Jonathan's 5th birthday. After going out to eat the boys came over for a slumber party. Thursday, my little brother Gil moved into the dorms for his first year of college (sniff sniff). I sadly forgot my camera but it was bittersweet moving him in. Friday Claire and I picked up some great deals at a garage sale. I was never into garage/yard sales, but recently a couple friends have convinced me that especially when you have kiddos you can find some great items at amazing prices. This morning's steal...Mega Blocks doll houses. I got all four doll houses with their accessories for $5! I was on a mission for new fall shoes for Claire, but when she found this box of goodies, I coulnd't resist. She played with it all day - she even got her daddy to play too :)

Claire was trying to sit in the house too.

Audrey Brianna Blair

Tony's sister Misty gave birth to a sweet baby girl on August 11. We got to go up and visit the new family this past weekend. It was a hot day, but Papaw still managed to get some fun pictures of everyone outside enjoying the sunshine.

My Little Baker

Like mother like daughter...As many of you know one of my favorite hobbies is to bake, especially desserts. Well I have recently found out Claire too loves to bake. Today we baked a chocolate cake with chocolate icing (from scratch) it was very yummy!
