I LOVE Nebraska

This past weekend my entire family headed back to our roots of the Cornhusker state. It was a bittersweet trip in that my precious grandpa has been battling cancer for almost 10 years and the doctors suggested we come to visit sooner than later as his health is going down hill rapidly. We all immediately booked flights, packed up vans and traveled west to Nebraska to love on our grandparents, possibly one last time. My grandmother has alzheimers. I don't mean to write a sad post. But rather if you have grandparents still alive, enjoy every minute God blesses you with them. My grandparents (Elmer and Lovella Zajicek) celebrated their 60th anniversary 2 years ago. They are an amazing couple, who truly love each other no matter what. When we arrived at the Zajicek Farm my Grandpa said, "I want this weekend to be a celebration of life." and it truly was.

4th of July

I almost forgot one of my favorite indy memories...of the past couple weeks. Tony's aunt Patty lives just N of Indy, so we spent the 4th of July in her town watching a cute parade, while the cousins collected candy and then we all headed to Patty's house for some Indiana cook'n. Check out this dog! He sat in that little cart the whole parade! He should be on that show, "All American Dog" - ahahaa!

ps - of course i had the cutest 4th of july outfit for claire with matching sandals n all, but this one day it was FREEZING?! oh well, maybe next year :)

We Made It!

Ok, I know it's been 52.4 years since we updated our blog, but soo much has happened in the last few weeks. And we just got our internet back up and running a couple days ago. God really showed me how much time I can "waste" on the internet. Going w/o for 3 weeks, I found many other great and probably more wise ways to spend some free time. Ok, let's get down to business. So to make a very long story short, the Zetterberg family is now back in the Hoosier state. Since everything happened in about 2 weeks we decided to just do the apt thing for one more year and look at homes next year. But I really like our new "home" - we have nice neighbors, a pool, tennis courts and a play ground. We even live in a great part of Indy. Sooo close to everything - especially shopping! A very sweet and wise friend of mine (Stephanie Rogers) once told me, "Seminary life was good in that we learned how to live on a very small budget. So even though God may bless us with jobs for our husbands that pay more, we still need to be wise with our money." Thanks Steph, I repeat that to myself each time I make a trip to Target :) So other than shopping what have we been up to? Well, now with the luxury of living close to family we are able to visit with them more. We even got to attend Hayden's 3rd birthday party. I've had lunch with my sister and mother-in-law, helped my best friend Jen move into a new home, I even got to take my nephews, Jonathan and Matthew to the pool. And my personal favorite, time with my husband. Now that he works days rather than nights, our sleep and awake schedules are more the same, which is a huge plus for a marriage and family. Though it was really hard to leave Louisville, I have enjoyed our time here already and look forward to many more fun days and memories. So after this very long "post" here are some fun pics to share. As you can see we've been outside alot. Praise the Lord for Slip N Slides, pools, fancy parks and sunshine!
